Privacy notice (POPIA)
This notice explains how personal information sent through this website and its phone line is handled, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Last updated 2 November 2026.
Responsible party
Simon Bruwer, trading as Bloemfontein Epoxy Flooring, runs this website, its quote form and its phone line (060 086 8080), and is the responsible party for personal information collected through them. What we collect
- Quote form: your name, phone number, email address (if you give it), suburb or area, type of floor, finish, rough size and anything you write in the message box.
- Phone calls: the number you call from, and the date, time and length of the call. Calls are not recorded.
- Website logs: the hosting server keeps standard logs of IP addresses, browser type and pages visited, used for security and fixing faults.
Why we use it, and on what basis
Only to respond to your request: to pass it to the installer who will measure up and quote, and to follow up on that request. This is processing you have asked for by contacting us, and is needed to take the steps towards a quote. We don't use your details for marketing and we don't sell them.
Who we share it with
- The installer. Your request and call details go to the independent epoxy installer who carries out the measure-up, quote and installation. The installer is a separate business from the website operator and handles your information under its own POPIA obligations.
- Service providers (operators): HostAfrica (web hosting and email, South Africa), Twilio (the phone number and call forwarding, United States) and Google (email delivery, United States). They process information only to provide their service to us.
Information sent outside South Africa
Twilio and Google store some information in the United States. Both are bound by data protection terms that give protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 of the Act requires.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests and enquiry emails: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Call records: up to 2 years.
- Website server logs: deleted on the host's normal cycle, usually within 90 days.
Security
The site runs on HTTPS. Quote requests are stored outside the public part of the website, and only the operator and the installer handling your request see them. If we believe your information has been accessed without permission, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used, by emailing info@epoxyflooringbloemfontein.co.za. We'll respond within 30 days.
